The Black Warrior Council has three wonderful camping facilities, each unique in their own way, for use by the youth and adults we serve. Scouting units from out-of-council are welcome to come and enjoy our camps. Outside groups may also request use of our facilities but there are additional insurance and indemnity requirements that must be met.

Camp O’Rear is a 90-acre Scout camp located in Jasper. It is owned and operated by the Black Warrior Council as a primative-style facility. Camp O’Rear does have a small dining hall (with one large room, one small room, kitchen, fireplace, and bathrooms); a troop lodge with sleeping quarters, kitchen, bathrooms, and meeting area; and a large pavilion area that sits close to the Black Water Creek. A highlight of Camp O'Rear is the swinging bridge. There are plenty of areas for hiking, camping, and exploring. Camp O’Rear is a beautiful facility and is one of the most diverse areas in terms of Alabama’s wildlife and flora.
