January 11, 2024: Due to several dangerous trees identified at White Bluff Scout Reservation, that property is currently CLOSED. We are working to get those trees removed and as soon as that occurs, we will reopen the property. Thanks for your understanding.

  • A Camp Use Permit must be submitted to McAbee Scout Service Center using the online system at least 2-weeks prior to use of facilities. Any payments for facilities must be paid at the McAbee Service Center at least 5 days before arriving at camp to insure use of facilities.

    • Out of Council Units and Outside Organization have to fill out the Hold Harmless agreement to reserve properties.​

    • Outside Organizations must provide a certificate of liability insurance of minimum of $1,000,000 naming the Black Warrior Council, BSA as additionally insured.

  • Although every attempt will be made to avoid canceling an approved permit, we retain the right to do so.

  • Only a registered Unit Leader or Advisor, 21 years of age or older, may submit a Camp Use Permit.

  • It is the responsibility of the registered Unit Leader or Advisor to see that all Youth Protection guidelines and the standards as listed in the most current printing of BSA’s Guide to Safe Scouting are followed at all times.

  • Should a Unit or group need to cancel their activity or if there will be a significant change (30 minutes or more) in arrival or departure times, the Camp Ranger (Camp Horne) or Caretaker (Camp O'Rear) must be contacted as soon as possible.
