The Chickasaw District is responsible for Scouting operations in the northern half of Tuscaloosa County (The Black Warrior River being the boundary line), Pickens County, Fayette County, and Lamar County. Below are some of the communities we serve:

The Boy Scouts of America provides the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be "Prepared. For Life.™" The Scouting organization is composed of 2.7 million youth members between the ages of 7 and 21 and more than a million volunteers in local councils throughout the United States and its territories.
Cub Scouts Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids! They get to wear a cool uniform, go places, and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want to learn about wild animals? Go Cub Scouting!
Boy Scouts:one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.
Venturing: a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
Exploring: a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 14-20. Programs provide an ideal link between the academic environment and the real world. Programs provide opportunities to participate in practical, real, and meaningful experiences to help YOU determine whether or not a particular career field is the right fit.

June and July are Bring a Buddy Month in the Black Warrior Council! Any registered scout who brings a friend to a scout event/ meeting and successfully recruits them to their unit will receive a RECRUITER Patch from the Scout Office. The newly recruited scout must complete a new youth application form and turn in to the scout office or your unit leader.
